Autumn Season

It is becoming colder and colder everyday. The temperature today is around 11 degrees celsius. The autumn season is here. You can see the early morning mist. This morning there were hailstones but not big. Time to wear winter jacket and shawl. I do not like to wear them. Jacket is very heavy and the shawl around your neck is very uncomfortable. No choice! To keep me warm and away from cough or colds I have to wear these things. I have kept my summer clothes in the other cabinet. Sweaters and long sleeves are now ready for the cold days.
What I like in the autumn season are the falling leaves. They are very colorful. They have yellow gold, red orange and brownish colors.
Tomorrow's temperature is just almost the same as today. Cold! brrrrrrr!

Need A Floor Installer

Living on a house with rough floors and mess is very inconvenient.
My friend needs someone who is expert in flooring installation. Her boyfriend tried to install the floor but it was a big mess. He used more materials which cost more than the experts used. Her boyfriend had underestimated the work. Lots of his free time was wasted installing the floor. He was very disappointed because the result was not good. They wanted to save some bucks if they do it alone. He changed first the bedroom floor as a try out. The result was not presentable enough so he decided to stop and let someone do it. They are looking for someone who is very good in flooring installation. It may cost more than their budget but at least the result would be acceptable. They went to the store where they bought the materials and asked if someone could come this weekend. The store owner told them that they can schedule it next month because they have many orders. She was very upset.  She cannot wait until next month so they keep on searching for someone who can solve their problem soonest.

Reschedule the Party

My sister called me up yesterday. We have not talked for a while. A big party is organized for her daughter. She was very upset because the party of her daughter will be moved on the 22nd instead of the 15th of this month. She is very busy repairing her house. Some tiles are slightly broken. She was very angry because the people who installed the floor tiles are not experts. The files were unevenly installed and the grout in-between was not well applied. It was coming up. They have to learn more on how to install the tiles, she said. The party will be moved because of these untrained laborers. She had spoken to the contractor and said the tiles must be changed without any additional costs. The contractor agreed her request if not she will not pay the whole contracted amount. It was the fault of the contractor that his people are amateur in doing that skilled work.
It is very frustrating to know if you are expecting things and works to be finished in a certain period of time. Her daughter's graduation party will be rescheduled due to the delay of the work.

Kevin Is Very Inquisitive

Kevin sometimes helps in cleaning the house. One afternoon after school he did not want to watch tv neither play computer games So, he packed the unfinished boat and continued building it. This boat was given to him during his birthday. He has to assemble the boat. He had been building this boat since two days ago. He is almost done. After an hour, he got bored. He asked me if he could sweep the floor using a swiffer (a disposable rag). He sometimes helps me in cleaning the floor. When he was finished  cleaning the ground floor he asked me if he could clean upstairs. We have laminated floor upstairs so it is very easy to clean. Kevin was cleaning the floor while I was chatting with my friend in the U.S. FlooringinBatonRouge,LA has just installed their laminated floor. She was very thankful that they have laminated floor because it is very easy to clean. She can clean the whole house in 15 minutes.
This evening Kevin helped me in preparing the table. He put the place mats, dishes, glasses and the cutlery. He is very helpful and inquisitive. Due to his curiosity he is very interested to do something new that attracts his eyes.

Swimming Diploma B

Every child here in the Netherlands has to get a swimming diploma at least diploma A. Swimming is one of the integral parts of children's education. This country is surrounded with water like lakes, canals or small ditches. Children must know how to swim to save themselves or friends when they fall into a ditch etc.
There are three diplomas to acquire A, B and C. Annabel had her Diploma A last 2009. Some kids took more than a year to get diploma A. We were very happy because she did it in seven months. When we moved here in Almere  we had to wait for months before she could start her swimming lessons because we wanted that she could have the same schedule with Kevin of course in the other group. We enrolled Kevin last February this year but  he started last June. There are so many enrollees that parents have to wait maybe half year before their children can start the lesson. So, he is now in his 5th month in swimming. We hope Kevin will get his Diploma A two months from now. It saves us time and money. Just the same as Annabel, Kevin has to get the three diplomas.

The first part of their exams was swimming with clothes and shoes on.

The last part was swimming with their swimsuit. The exams took almost 45 minutes. Diplomas were given right after the exams with a small pack of chips to felicitate the kids. Today she  is going to start for Diploma C. I think it will not take long to get C.

Diploma A: Acquisition of swim strokes
Diploma B: Basic swimming skills
Diploma C: Complete program
A child has a passport for a lifetime fun in swimming and playing in the water if he gets the three diplomas.

Whenever we focus on the pains in the past, 

we are becoming like the man who wants to drive forward using his rear-view mirror. 

There is a reason why windshields are bigger than the rear-view mirrors. 

It's because the view ahead is more important than the view behind. 

The promise of the future is always better than the pains of the past. 

There's no edit button that allows us the option to undo what has already been said and done.
