Car-in Led Us To Nowhere

My husband cannot drive without his car-in navigation. Maybe exaggerated but a little bit true ;). Whenever we go, car-in navigation leads us the way. We went to a zoo, het Ouwehands Dierenpark last July 22. When we stepped in the car, he immediately turned on the car-in navigation. After an hour of driving, we drove through a village and then a farm. We really did not know where car-in was leading us. We just followed what the car navigation said. I could not stop laughing because we were really lost. I made pictures of the road where we drove through.

Dead end, we had to go back.
We met a tractor
But after 20-minute of driving through this unknown road, we finally reached our destination. Still car-in led us the right way but a VERY STRANGE WAY.
What are your experiences with car-in navigation?

FuNnY MOndaY...Sharing Everything

An elderly couple walk into a fast food restaurant. They order one hamburger, one order of fries and one drink.
The old man unwraps the plain hamburger and carefully cuts it in half. He places one half in front of his wife. He then carefully counts out the fries, dividing them into two piles and neatly placing one pile in front of his wife. He takes a sip of the drink, his wife takes a sip and then sets the cup down between them. As he begins to eat his few bites of hamburger, the people around them keep looking over and whispering “That poor old couple – all they can afford is one meal for the two of them.”
As the man begins to eat his fries a young man comes to the table. He politely offers to buy another meal for the old couple. The old man replies that they’re just fine – they’re just used to sharing everything.
The surrounding people noticed the old lady hadn’t eaten a bite. She sits there watching her husband eat and occasionally taking turns sipping the drink.
Again the young man comes over and begs them to let him buy another meal for them.
This time the old woman says “No, thank you, we are used to sharing everything.”
As the old man finishes and wipes his face neatly with the napkin, the young man again comes over to the old lady who had yet to eat a single bite of food and asks “May I ask what is it you are waiting for?”
The old woman answers… “THE TEETH.”

Your Car Needs A Clean Air

A clean air filter is important for your car's performance. A dirty air filter can cause many troubles in your car if your spark plugs foul, you may have problems keeping your car running.
My friend has a Van. She lives in a farm. It is 45-minute drive from the nearest town. Her husband has to bring her to the town everyday because she works there. They drive through the rough road everyday. The air filter becomes dirty more quickly. Her husband has to change the air filter of their Van regularly. The mechanic has to inspect the air filter, and change it if necessary during an oil change. The air filter is often neglected because it is just a simple thing or due to forgetfulness but it plays a big role in your car's performance. Her husband is not handy that is why during inspection schedules will always include a filter check.
If you are handy or know something about mechanics you can change the air filter of your car. The car's handbook will point out where to look, and getting to the part often involves the simple loosening of a couple of fasteners. You do not need to go to a car shop to have the air filter change. There are many online auto shops which carry varieties of air filters to choose from. So quick and realiable shipping, you order today and you can have it the next day.
Carid.com has the top brands, a huge selection of air filters and the guaranteed best prices.
Car engines are just like us. They need clean air to keep on going.

:( with SocialSpark

Have you checked out the SocialSpark Marketplace recently?
There's a new opp there and guess what -- you qualify!

I have received this message three times because I was qualified to take three different opps. But when I checked out, the opps were already closed. I was so disappointed. When can my earnings reach 50 dollars so that I can cash out? Most of their opportunities are for the USA bloggers. So, it will take long to reach 50 dollars especially when you only receive a 7.50-dollar opp. If you receive 7.50-dollar opps 4 times in a month then it is ok. But when you receive only two opps in a month, my gosh it will take three months before you can enjoy your earnings. Besides, they are very strict with the grammar. I have to be very careful with my grammar.
This is not my first time to miss opps from SocialSpark. I have been experiencing this long ago. I have missed many opps from them. It is very disappointing :(
What are your experiences with SocialSpark?

Unique Business Cards

Business card is businessman's valuable assests. He brings it with him whenever he goes just like his cellphone.
I met an old friend during the Independence Day party last June 12, 2010. The barbecue party was held in a big park. In the party I received lots of business cards and flyers. It was a such a big opportunity for the businessmen to hand out their business cards and promote their business. There were cards which I found useful that is why I kept them. Maybe I need them in the future.
Business card expresses the nature of your business and personality. You must make your business card unique so that customer will keep it. Your business card must be presentable, simple, neat and is printed in a good quality card. A business logo makes extra attractive and authentic.
There are many printing presses which print custom business card. They use good quality materials. Cards and ink are of excellent quality. You design your own business card and have it printed by a good printing press in a good quality card. Never print your own card. Be unique, customize your business card.
See to it that your business card will go into the pocket of the customer not into the trash can.

Fun Rides in the Koningin Juliana Toren

Fun rides are every kid's wish. We went to a family park Koningin Juliana Toren in Apeldoorn last Monday. It is 45 minutes drive from our house. We were there around 10:00 a.m. The park opens at 10:30 a.m. There are 60 attractions like the Mouse Story, fun rides, Magic Music Mouse Show and many more. Annabel was there during their school excursion. She really wanted to go back. She really likes the roller coaster. At first Kevin was afraid to ride but after one round he wanted to ride again and again.

We went home around 5:15 p.m. We were all tired but we absolutely had fun. We will go back soon because one day is not enough to enjoy all the rides. Tomorrow we will go to a zoo. HANG ON for more PHOTOS!

MY New BLog HeaDeR

We went to Orchidarium last Wednesday. We took a lot of pictures. I used my NOkia N95 cellphone in taking the pictures. My hubby took this picture. He has a nice camera and he is a good photographer.

If I can find another nice picture, I will change again my header. I keep on editing my blog. It is boring to see the same faces and colors. This is to keep me busy. It encourages me to keep my blog alive by editing like adding new pictures or removing the ones I do not like.

Short Notes and Greetings

Last week my friend had her birthday. I forgot her birthday. She called me up because she wanted to ask something. While talking for an hour over the phone, she said that she will be celebrating her birthday the next day. It was already late if I would send her a birthday card. So, I posted a birthday greetings on my blog. After posting my short greetings I sent her a text message so that she can see it on time.
It is always difficult to find the right message for a special friend. I immediate surfed on the net. I looked for a special birthday greetings. After an hour of browsing on the net I found a very good website for all kinds of greetings like birthday, anniversary and even wedding thank you notes wording. I will give this website to my friend who is a wedding planner then she can get a unique wedding thank you notes wording. It is not yet a practice in my homeland to send a Thank You card after wedding. This will be a unique and new generation practice. This is great.
At Article Alley you can find all kinds of articles. Choose the article you like and maybe edit it. Whenever I need some short messages and articles I immediately surf on the net. I add or delete some words to fit the concept of my greetings or messages.

The Vanda Orchid

We were in the Orchidarium yesterday. I took lots of pictures of the orchids. I was really fascinated by the vanda orchid.

The vanda is a genus in the orchid family with oval leaves and extreme long air roots. It blooms especially in the summer with mostly 6 to 8 flowers per stem. The vanda orchids have different colors.
Tip: Hang the vanda in the lighted place and plunge it half an hour two times a week in a lukewarm water.
I am crazy about orchids. I really appreciate their different colors and flower-shapes.

Annabel Was Mega Mindy

(She did not wear the mask of Mega Mindy, she preferred the butterfly mask.)
There are times in school where children are asked to wear their favorite costumes. Last year Annabel wore the Mega Mindy costume. She is crazy about Mega Mindy. Mega Mindy is a heroine. She helps the police to arrest the bad people.
Mieke lives in the house of her grandpa and grandmother. The largest invention of grandpa is the capsule in which Mieke changes into Mega Mindy. When there are a raid or other crimes happen Mieke comes to help the victims. She uses her super power to bring down the bad people. Unfortunately Mega Mindy stays not long, for after a time she changes again to Mieke. That is why Annabel likes Mega Mindy. The character Mega Mindy touches her very much.
When I was in the mall together with Annabel we saw a ladybug costume, one of my favorite costumes. A child is so cute to see when she wears a ladybug costume. I like the Ladybug costume because of its gorgeous black and red color. Red and black are my favorite colors. The red wings with black dots, and a matching black antennae headpiece makes the costume extra cute.
Ladybug Costumes can be bought on the net. There are so many online shops where you can buy different costumes like Mega Mindy, princess, queen bee, bumble bee and more. You do not need to go out to buy them.
Annabel does not like the ladybug costume. She likes the Mega Mindy costume because of the heroic deeds of Mieke.
What is your kid's favorite costume?
Do you buy or make it by yourself?

Avaya And Southern Eagle Insurance

This is a sponsored guest post written by Brash on behalf of Phone Systems. Post powered by Sponzai.

Southern Eagle Insurance, a workman compensations service for businesses in Florida, has implemented an Avaya phone system in order to make services more efficient. Due to the nature of the business that Southern Eagle Insurance run, a missed call or message can have a disastrous effect on claims that are time-sensitive. Avaya has implemented an IP Office 500 phone system which has all the hall marks of an Avaya system. Features such as voicemail, auto-attendant and call routing can make life a whole lot easier for Southern Eagle Insurance.

Business Phone Systems: PBX, IP and Everything In-between
Most businesses have a phone system these days and words like ‘PBX’ and ‘IP Telephony’ are often bandied around as an ingrained part of business conversation, yet what exactly is a phone system? How does an IP PBX differ from a PBX? And how can a phone system benefit your business in discernable ways? This article will answer all these questions and more and leave you with a workable knowledge of business phone systems.

What is a Phone System?
To properly understand the differences between phone systems, a basic knowledge of what a telephone system is needs to be attained. A phone system acts as an exchange that allows people to communicate both internally and externally. Rather than each phone having a separate line to the Public Telephone Network (PTN), a phone system enables your business to connect all phones, using a limited number of lines.

As well as placing and receiving internal and external calls, phone systems also employ certain basic features designed for business – these will be discussed further on.

PBX Phone Systems
Let us first explain the acronym so as to avoid confusion - PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange. A PBX phone system consists of internal and external phone lines, a console and a computer server. The PBX is a switching system used to manage internal calls and provide external lines to internal phones when needed. Distinguishing itself from the Public Telephone Network though, PBX phone systems can route incoming calls to extensions and connect calls to answering services as well as other more business-specific features that are the trademark of phone systems and which we shall come to later.

IP PBX Phone Systems
An IP (Internet Protocol) PBX does the same thing as an ordinary PBX except it is designed to deliver voice (VoIP) or video over a data network and interoperate with the normal Public Telephone Network. IP PBXs can be either hardware or software based and can provide more advanced functions than ordinary PBXs by integrating with computer systems.

PBX and IP PBX phone systems are not the only business phone systems available, however they act as a standard around which other phone systems are based and are the most widely used phone systems in the business arena.

Phone System Basic Features
Phone systems all share a common set of features that make businesses more efficient – after all, time is money. These features include:

Call Conferencing – the ability to share a phone call between more than two people which can save time and travel

Call Hold – an important feature for business phones - on-hold music or messaging can be added

Call Routing – saves time by routing calls to the right internal extension

Voicemail – one of the most important business telephone system functions.
Voicemails can be accessed by individuals or departments and can be also be forwarded

Auto-Attendant – this feature is well used especially with small phone systems as it negates the need for a secretary

These features as stated before, are common to all phone systems. Different types of phone systems however can have different features and as IP phone systems are becoming ever more popular, it is worth noting a few of the extra features that they can provide for your business:
Click-to-Call – uses computer-telephony integration (CTI) so you can simply click on the screen to call

Call Logging and Tracking – this feature is useful to find out call history and other information

Call Screening – allows you to see who is calling before you answer

Benefits of a Business Phone System
A common misconception is that you have to be a multi-national, filthy-rich corporation to have an advanced phone system but that is not the case. Many small and medium businesses have small phone systems that cost little and save them money. A VoIP phone system can seriously reduce costs for instance – calls can be routed over the internet rather than the Public Telephone Network, eradicating almost all call charges. Many businesses also bypass the cost of hiring a secretary by using an auto-attendant instead.

Certain features on a phone system can create the right impression with customers too. On hold messages and on hold music in particular can make a business seem more professional, as first impressions do go a long way.
Many businesses find that a phone system increases efficiency and functionality. For example, phone conferencing can reduce time spent in business travel, speed dial and click-to-call can also reduce time spent looking up phone numbers and voicemail is much more efficient than an answering machine. In the fast-paced world of business, the utilisation of time-saving and efficient tools can often be the difference between a good business and a mediocre business.

Phone Systems – Communication is the Key  Business phone systems then are exchanges that allow people to communicate internally and externally via the Public Telephone Network. Phone systems can come in many different versions with the most popular being the standard PBX and IP PBX phone systems. Phone systems are characterised by bespoke business features common to all phone systems and they can save businesses money as well as making them run more efficiently. Phone systems are becoming one of the essential tools of business now – communication is the key no matter what business you are in and business phone systems undoubtedly broaden communication horizons.

Funny Monday...Remembering Things

An 80 year old couple were having problems remembering things, so they decided to go to their doctor to get checked out to make sure nothing was wrong with them.
The doctor told them that they were physically okay but might want to start writing things down and make notes to help them remember things. The couple thanked the doctor and left.
Later that night while watching TV, the man got up from his chair and his wife asked, “Where are you going?”
He replied, “To the kitchen.”
She asked, “Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?”
He replied, “Sure.”
She then asked him, “Don’t you think you should write it down so you can remember it?”
He said, “No, I can remember that.”
She then said, “Well I would also like some strawberries on top. You had better write that down because I know you’ll forget that.”
He said, “I can remember that, you want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.”
She replied, “Well I also would like whipped cream on top. I know you will forget that so you better write it down.”
With irritation in his voice, he said, “I don’t need to write that down! I can remember that.” He then fumes into the kitchen.
After about 20 minutes he returned from the kitchen and handed her a plate of bacon and eggs. She stared at the plate for a moment and said angrily:
“I TOLD you to write it down! You forgot my toast!”

The Last Day of School Year 2009-2010

Today is the last day of school. My kids have 6 weeks school vacation. We will just spend the vacation here in Holland. We plan to bring the kids to fun fairs every now and then. Maybe we can go on vacation next year to my homeland, the Philippines. I really miss my family.
Almost every kids dream not to go to school because they just want to play. So, Annabel and Kevin are now very happy that they have their school  vacation. They can wake up and sleep late. They can play all day. I will be crazy ;) for six weeks with these two at home the whole day. I will make them busy. I have no plan yet what to do when they are at home. Time goes fast. I think six weeks will be ok. I can survive with these two busy kids. LOL.
Any suggestions how to make them busy so that they will not keep on asking "Mama, I want to play computer games". In this case, I should make a schedule the time they can sit behind the computer and do their things. And my blogging then??? My day will not be complete without checking my blogs, mails and opps. :). I will just see next week.

A: I'm in a big trouble!
B: Why is that?
A: I saw a rat in my house!
B: Oh, well, all you need to do is use a trap.
A: I don't have one.
B: Well then, buy one.
A: Can't afford one.
B: I can give you mine if you want.
A: That sounds good.
B: All you need to do is just use some cheese in order to make the rat come to the trap.
A: I don't have any cheese.
B: Well, then put only a small piece of bread.
A: I don't have bread.
B: Then what is the rat doing at your house?!

FELICIA

Summertime is barbecuing, sitting outside, gardening and more.

Chiffon Cake with Sugarpearls

This is my second cake. The first cake I made was a pink one since the birthday celebrant was a ten-year old girl. This blue cake was for my friend's son.
I want to learn more about cake decorating. I look at the videos on Youtube. It gives me a lot of ideas on how to make icing and decorate cakes.

Lechon in the Turbo

It is nice to start the month to post a tasty food "Lechon".
Last month May 22, Annabel celebrated her 9th birthday. My friend made a lechon in the turbo. We all know that skin of pig and chicken is not healthy but how could one resist it especially when you see a crispy skin like this.

I never thought that you could make a crispy lechon in the turbo.
But I really missed the real lechon.
