How do YOu WeLcoMe 2010?

We will welcome 2010 with just a simple celebration. My mother-in-law will join us in welcoming 2010 if the weather permits because she lives 25 minutes drive from our house. Snow was back yesterday so it is difficult to drive. If the snow stays my hubby decided not to pick his mother up because the road is very slippery. I really hope that she can be with us. We gonna have fondue and canei. For our dessert, I prepared fresh fruits. On 9 o'clock we will have cold snacks like smoke trout, sausages, cheese, nuts, wine, etc. while waiting for the new year. Not to be forgotten the champagne to welcome 2010. CHEERS!!!

HAVE A SPARKLING NEW YEAR!
How about you, what do you prepare?

Freestanding Baths, classic but elegant

We are planning to have our bathroom renovated. So, I searched in the internet to look for bathroom style because I do not have any ideas about bathrooms. I came across this freestanding baths. I am really fascinated by these freestanding baths. They are very classic but elegant. Classic styles are becoming popular again. Designers bring them to life again with elegance. Their bathrooms have the following features like:
High quality- made of double layer, acrylic with a cast resin filler between the layers for strength and a smooth, warm finish.
Save water cost - because of the thermos vacuum effect between the side wall helps the bath retains heat and stay warmer longer
Stylish - they have a wide range of freestanding baths to fit almost any size bathroom.

This Teardrop design bathtub is simply unique and luxurious. The sensuous curves and absolute comfort combine to create the perfect bath for complete relaxation.

aN aFTeRnooN wiTh the ChipMunks

We have just arrived home from the movie.
It is our first day of Christmas here. We don't have any visitors or plans. So my hubby came up with a good idea to watch a movie. Last night the kids watched "Alvin and the Chipmunks 1", they liked it very much. I heard them laughing. My son tried to imitate Alvin, it was funny. He was really impressed. Since the film "ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 2" is now showing so, we decided to watch on the big screen. It was a nice movie for all ages.
ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 2, a movie you MUST SEE!!!

Penny Auctions For A Cause

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bidazzled. All opinions are 100% mine.
Have you heard of Penny Auctions or Pay-Per-Bid auctions site for a cause?
If you bid a certain item then you are the highest bidder, obviously you get the item. That is auction.
There are so many auctions sites out there like Bidazzled.
One thing  I like Bidazzled is that all bidders are winners.
Auctions winners save over 80% off retail.
If you win, and you think you need cash, Bidazzled make an offer to buy the item back for either: cash (paypal or check), cash and bids, or bids.
There are no lossers because you receive up to 50 Bonus Bids as a thank for participating, and can purchase the auction item less the investment you had in the auction.
Example on an item which in current auction is Nikon D3000 10.2 MP Digital SLR Camera with Lens Package, a retail price of 595.00 dollars. If you bid this item for a dollar and nobody places bids, then you win the camera for a dollar. Is not it cool!

They give 5 free bids to new members to learn with.
EXCLUSIVE OFFER, to you my readers until January 15
Since you are my frequent reader and visitor, you are given 15 additional bids if you use this code

EveRyBody is OuTside PLaying the SnoW

After eating our lunch the kids went outside to play the snow together with my hubby. I want to stay inside because I have to clean the house and later of the day, iron the clothes. I sometimes like being alone then I can do the household chores without the interruptions of the kids shouting "mama, I want to have this or mama, come."
We have a visitor today, Kevin's best buddy in Soest. Casper was here around 11 A.M. His father brought him here because he wants to play with Kevin. They have not seen each other for 7 weeks since we moved here. They are now outside playing the snow. At the back of our house is a big ground where the children can play.
Right of this moment I see snowflakes outside. It has been snowing the whole morning 'til now. There was a snowstorm this morning.
I will stay inside, turn on the stereo and listen to christmas songs rather than playing in the snow. Brrrrrrr, it is cold outside.
How's your Sunday?

the fiRsT SnOwMan

It is still freezing. The temperature is around -4 degrees celsius. Yesterday afternoon after school, Annabel and Kevin made a snowman. This is the first snowman they ever made. I was sitting behind the computer when Annabel came inside and asked me "mama, I need my old shawl and bonnet for the snowman." They are in your cabinet drawer. She ran upstairs to get her shawl and bonnet. When they were finished making the snowman, they shouted "mama, look at the snowman." I never thought they could make that big snowman. They were really having fun.

the fiRsT sNoW daY

I took these pictures yesterday. Sometimes we don't have snow. But yesterday the snow was around 10 centimeters thick. In the northern and southern part of the Netherlands was it between 20 and 50 centimeters.
That was the first time that Annabel and Kevin saw snow that thick. I bring and pick them up from school as I do everyday. When we were out from our house they immediately picked up the snow, made into balls and threw against each other. They had fun. It is very nice to see snow. Maybe you dreamed of seeing it. Absolutely, it is very nice to see it but very dangerous. It is slippery, you might break your ankle if you slide. But for the kids they like to play the snow. They make snowballs, and snowman.
Do you have snow in your country?

Add image to YouR BLog HeAdeR

After two days of changing and looking for blog header pictue, I made this new header. I want to add an image on my header. I planned to change my template but it takes a lot of work because I have to put again the widgets which I lost. For a change I add an image on the header. It is difficult to add an image to your header if you choose your own picture. You have to have a picture which fits to the header. I want tulips in my header because Holland is known in tulips. So, I look for a picture of tulips. I found so many pictures but they were small. My husband tried to make the picture bigger but it could not be resize into larger size. I found a large panoramic picture of tulips which I have now in my header, but it is too big.

This panoramic picture is 1664 x 432 - 256 kB - jpg. I need 970 pixels for my header.
Hubby again tried to make it smaller 970 pixels then it works. For a blog header image, look for a panoramic image which is bigger than the size of your header then resize it. You can resize the image into a smaller size. You can not resize a small image into a large one. It doesn't work. So, if you want to add an image on your header look for a bigger picture and then resize it.
Try it!

Last November 28 Sinterklaas was at my hubby's work. Annabel and Kevin received gifts from Sinterklaas and lots of pepernoten from Zwarte Pieten. It was one of the most awaited events of the year, Sinterklaas at papa's work. They were very happy with their gifts.
See you next year, Sinterklaas! Don't forget my gift too (wink).

a GLass of hot Water with HONey and LemON

Thanks God my son feels better. After a week of staying at home, having cough and colds, he has to go back to school. After him is my turn. Now I feel a little bit sick. I have coughs and running nose. Last night I drank a glass of hot water with honey and lemon. It soothes. I think it helps because I was able to sleep. My hubby brought the kids to school this morning since he is free. So, I can stay at home and relax.

sLeePLess NighTs

I am having sleepless nights since last Sunday because my son is sick. He has cough and colds. This time of the year is normal that many people get sick because of the weather. The temperature this morning was 1 degree celsius. In the night is freezing.
My hubby called the doctor yesterday and the doctor said it was normal as long as he eats and drinks. But as a mother, I have all the worries. It hurts so much when you can not help your child when he is sick. All I have to do is to give him extra attention. I play with him when he feels good. Now, he is standing beside me because he wants to play computer. So, I will give him the seat. I hope he will be fine today. Sometimes he feels good in the morning and in the afternoon the body temperature goes up. We really hope that he will be better soon because this Friday is Sinterklaas Feest in his school. We hope that he can go to school and celebrate Sinterklaas together with his classmates.
